NHS & Social Care

Access, Workforce and Prevention

This page sets out Revival Party’s current direction of travel for nhs & social care. It is a public policy-development page, not a final manifesto commitment. Detailed proposals should be published with costs, trade-offs, evidence and implementation plans before becoming formal commitments.

The Challenge

Long waits, pressure on primary and emergency care, workforce shortages and weaknesses in social care can reinforce one another and reduce capacity across the health system.

Our Direction

Focus on workforce retention, timely primary care, prevention, better use of digital tools, closer NHS and social-care coordination, and transparent measures of waiting times, outcomes and patient experience.

Transformation Principle

Protect care. Transform the system. Cut waste. Improve outcomes. Revival Party’s NHS and social care policy would protect universal care while pursuing serious transformation reform: reducing avoidable waste, duplication and unnecessary bureaucracy; modernising procurement and digital systems; improving workforce productivity; integrating health and social care; and redirecting savings towards frontline treatment, prevention, mental-health support, shorter waiting times and better GP access.

Procurement Quality & Value for Money

Procurement quality control and value for money: High-value and high-risk NHS purchasing should be subject to robust product and specification checks, supplier due diligence, conflict-of-interest declarations, competitive tendering wherever practicable, staged payments linked to verified delivery and quality, clear audit trails and enforceable recovery or clawback provisions when contracted goods fail agreed standards. Emergency procurement should be faster when necessary, but it should not mean abandoning essential safeguards.

Status: This policy area remains under development. Revival Party will distinguish between ideas under consideration, current proposals and formal commitments as the policy programme develops.
